Hey people,
I am very sorrrrry… I know I have been absent for a while. I
started a YouTube channel (it is a little difficult to divide my attention to
both places… I promise to try my best though).
I hope our hair is still alive and healthy.:)
Let me get right to the post.

I am guilty of forgetting to moisturize my hair daily. I had
heard about the LOC method to help retain moisture. The LOC method stands for
Liquid-Oil-Cream. I know people who can swear by it that it helps retain
moisture. I started to find out more about and saw many (I mean MANY!) blogs comparing
LOC and LCO. I am now for LCO, though most will argue that the other does not
matter because there will be some amount of mixing up.
LCO stands for Liquid-Cream-Oil. This method is to help
retain moisture in your hair. I was never a fan of this method, because I hate
oil in my palms (it’s just uncomfortable for me).
I fell in love with this method May 2016 (yes I remember). I
was in twists for quite a while and it just kept drying up.
HOW DO I DO THIS?
The whole idea of the initial LOC method was to apply water or water-based product (leave-in), the an oil and finally sealing with a cream or gel (shea butter is a good sealant). This method did not retain as much moisture for me compared to LCO. Remember everyone's hair is different, what may work for you might not work me.
Some people would probably dampen their hair a little before
applying cream, it can be a hair lotion or a leave-in conditioner, then seal it
with an oil ( I use coconut or castor oil).
I prefer to mix up the cream and water in one spray bottle
(easier and faster way). I decides not to add the oil to the mixture because I
need it to be on its own in order to seal it even better. When I tried mixing
the oil in one bottle, moisture was not retained as much as applying it
separately.
When I do this, my hair is moisturized for 48 hours and
more. I always try my best to repeat this after 2 days (I really try).
FAQS
- Can I do it while in braids (or any protective style)? Yes, you can. Weaves might be difficult but not impossible.
- Can I use any oil? I would stick to heavier oils/sealing oils. Coconut oil and castor oil are easy to find though.
This method is just amazing. I would recommend it to anyone,
anytime.
THANKS FOR READING. (I PROMISE TO TRY BE A LITTLE MORE
ACTIVE).
